Barron McCann and Flexible Power Systems (FPS) have announced a strategic partnership that will enable businesses to successfully transition, scale and operate commercial EV fleets. The partnership brings together FPS’s expertise in fleet electrification planning, optimisation, automation and operational intelligence with Barron McCann’s nationwide deployment, support, maintenance and infrastructure capabilities. Together, the two companies will support businesses throughout every stage of the electrification journey, from initial planning and pilot programmes through to large-scale deployment, optimisation and asset availability and uptime.

As businesses continue to invest in fleet electrification, the focus is increasingly shifting from vehicle adoption and infrastructure deployment to operational performance at scale, making EVs part of a ‘high-availability and sophisticated business-as-usual.’ Businesses are now facing new challenges around infrastructure availability, vehicle uptime and charger utilisation, energy management, operational complexity, demonstrating return on investment and evidencing progress against sustainability and Net Zero commitments.

By combining our complementary capabilities, Barron McCann and FPS will support businesses reduce electrification risk, improve operational performance and maximise the value of their EV investments. The partnership will enable customers to benefit from intelligent planning, automated reporting, infrastructure expertise and long-term support, helping them scale EV operations with confidence while providing greater visibility of CO₂ reduction, Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) savings and wider sustainability outcomes.

Michael Ayres, Managing Director at Flexible Power Systems, commented:

“As commercial EV deployments scale, fleet operators need to maintain performance, control costs and keep vehicles and chargers available. Our partnership with Barron McCann combines FPS’s transition and real-time management software with best-in-class front-line support and charger uptime services, helping customers operate EV fleets with confidence.”

Together, Barron McCann’s nationwide engineering and support capabilities and FPS’s operational insight, optimisation and reporting expertise will help businesses maintain infrastructure performance, improve fleet utilisation and demonstrate measurable progress against Net Zero objectives. Through the partnership, businesses can benefit from:

  • Reduced electrification risk and operational complexity through intelligent planning, operational support, improved visibility, automation and cross-functional coordination.
  • Better utilisation of vehicles, charging infrastructure and energy assets, leading to improved infrastructure availability, fleet performance and return on investment.
  • Greater visibility of CO₂ savings, Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and operational performance through automated reporting, helping businesses support Net Zero objectives, demonstrate sustainability progress and validate the long-term value of their EV investments.
  • Faster and more confident scale-up of EV operations, enabling businesses to move from pilot programmes to business-as-usual fleet operations with greater certainty and reduced disruption.

Steve Slater, Head of Electrical and EV at Barron McCann, added:

“Fleet electrification creates major opportunities, but success depends on reliable infrastructure, responsive support and practical operational expertise. By partnering with FPS, we can offer customers a joined-up solution that helps them transition, scale and operate EV fleets reliably.”

The partnership reflects a shared commitment to service excellence within our goal of enabling businesses to realise the full value of fleet electrification. By combining intelligent planning, operational insight and automated reporting with nationwide deployment, support and maintenance capabilities, Barron McCann and FPS are enabling businesses to successfully transition, scale and operate EV fleets while demonstrating sustainability progress, validating business cases and supporting long-term Net Zero objectives.
