Craig plays a central role in the Group’s strategic development, leading on acquisitions, integrations and investment activity. He focuses on expanding the Group’s capabilities & entering new markets.
Paul leads the overall direction and performance of the Group, with responsibility for strategy, growth and operational delivery. He works closely across all Group companies to ensure alignment, drive long-term value and support continued expansion.
Rob leads the Group’s people strategy, focusing on culture, development and organisational effectiveness. He supports the growth of the business by ensuring the right structures, talent and environment are in place across all Group companies.
Martin leads the Group’s Retail Software Solutions. As founder of R247, he brings extensive retail technology and transformation experience, delivering practical, commercially focused solutions that create lasting customer value.
Russ is responsible for driving and maximising the Group’s revenue growth by aligning all revenue-generating functions, including but not limited to Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Commercial, Partnerships and Business Development.

Company Founded
Barron McCann was established as a Value Added Reseller, specialising in systems and service. This marked the beginning of our focus on delivering reliable technology solutions and long-term support for businesses.
Expansion into Technology Manufacturing
The company expanded into technology manufacture, leading to products within the following sectors: Networking (MicroMite and CONICL), Healthcare (BARS Blood Audit Release System), Banking (BACS) and Encryption (Xkryptor). These devices were supported by a growing national Field Engineering team.
Pivoting into Retail
Barron McCann entered the retail sector, extending its capabilities into in-store technology and support. This shift laid the foundations for long-term retail partnerships and future growth across the industry.
European Expansion
The company expands into Europe, with the first installation completed in Germany. This quickly grows into a full Pan-European Installation and Break-Fix Maintenance offering.
Alan Watson Becomes MD
Barron McCann Technology (OE manufacture) is demerged from Barron McCann. Alan Watson becomes Managing Director of Barron McCann, who continue to specialise in installation and maintenance services, predominantly in the Retail sector.
Barron McCann Group Founded
Alan Watson completes MBO of Barron McCann and launches the Barron McCann Group with the acquisition of BMc Azurri and renewed investment into Encryption technologies. Alan commences new role as Group Executive Chairman
Precept Launched
Precept Professional Services launched to provide HR and Employment Law Advisory services, further diversifying our Group.
BMc Acquired Cable-Talk
Cable-Talk UK was acquired to strengthen Barron McCann Group’s structured data cabling capabilities, expanding our ability to deliver end-to-end infrastructure solutions at scale.
BMc Acquired Retail Assist
Retail Assist was acquired to strengthen Barron McCann Group’s managed services offering, enabling the delivery of fully integrated, end-to-end IT support solutions.
EV Sector Launch
Barron McCann Group launches EV ChargePoint Installation and Maintenance service, aiming to be the first UK-wide provider of full End-to-End SLA driven ChargePoint services.
Retail 247 Acquisition
Retail247 acquired, complimenting existing software offerings from BMc Azurri and Retail Assist (Merret Pro).
Leadership Transition
Scott and Craig Watson became majority shareholders of the Barron McCann Group, with Alan continuing as Group Executive Chairman. This ensured the business remained family-owned, building on over 50 years of success.
